......WHO IS THIS GUY??......
My name is Austin Carter, but my nickname/artist name is Centipede. I was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, on May 12, 1989.
Music has always been a part of my life. Even as I was a child, my family knew that I would make my mark in music. My family noticed as I learned to talk, that I could sing very well for my age, so we all assumed that I would one day become a singer. Than, as I got a little older, I became interested in reading and playing music. So it seemed like I was to become a musician. But something else had happened to change that.
In case you were wondering, the name Centipede has absolutely nothing to do with music. It was nickname I got in junior high, when my classmates saw that my scar that I have on my right arm, looks like a tattoo of a centipede. So ever since then, that's what I was called.
I moved to St. Louis at the age of 15 going on 16. I was homeschooled, so I know longer played in band, and I had started to become bored with singing. Then, a little after my 16th birthday, my father came across a program he had for years called 'Magix Music And Video Maker Generation 6'. He gave it to me, saying that it would be something I would probably enjoy, seeing as I loved music so much. For the next few months I was making 'beats' by putting together loops that came with the program. I thought it was just a game, so I played with for awhile. But after awhile, I grew bored of it because I had used most of the loops, and it didn't have any sythesizers. Soon after, I learned what sampling was, and how to do it. Once I found out how to put my songs on cd, I let one of my close friends listen to it. Seing as I was just learning how to make beats, they didn't sound all that great, but my friend kept encouraging me to keep going with my music. Soon after, I started using Magix and FL Studio together, and well....here I am now.
